Tournament Preparation

Things to consider when preparing for a tournament include:

Travel time- know your practice options, time to get there.  Equipment selection and set make up are dependent on the course, the weather, where the tournament is to be played.  This can determine you equipment options, more wedges, bounce.

Reviewing the course is an important part of your tournament preparation.  Using the internet, course guides, finding out what type of condition, grass, speed of greens, shape of holes, length of the course, flat or hilly, normal wind direction, temperature and weather forecast are all elements to review before you arrive.

Prepare yourself also in mental, physical, technical and tactical aspects.  Rate yourself in these areas and train your weaknesses.

Food, diet and hydration are also areas to look at prior to the tournament.

Spending a small amount of time off course doing the 1% could mean the difference between a win and a disappointing tournament.
